Obituary

Obituary John F. "Frank" Jaszarowski, 84, of Florissant, MO passed away at 2:50pm Sunday, April 23, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Frank was born March 4, 1933 in Beulah, MO to Joseph and Maude (Lamar) Jaszarowski. He married Glenda Slaughter on June 30, 1956; she preceded him in death on December 20, 2013. Surviving are two children, Sonya Phillips of Ballwin, MO and James (Kelly) Jaszarowski of Washington, IL; grandchildren, Patrick (Sarah) Jaszarowski, Eric (Danielle) Jaszarowski, Angela Jaszarowski, Kevin (Susan) Holt, and Justin (Cindy) Kohlman; and great-grandchildren, Miah, Jaxson, Reghan, Evan, Madelyn, and Gabriella. He was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Frank attended Licking High School (Missouri) where he met his future wife Glenda. Out of high school Frank joined the Army in 1953 and was stationed at Fort Bliss Texas. After two years, he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant and was in charge of a tank detail. After leaving the army, Frank returned to the Beulah area and married Glenda in 1956. Frank and Glenda soon moved to St. Louis where he became a millwright and later foremen and general foreman at McDonald Douglas Aircraft (Boeing). He worked for McDonald Douglas for 38 years before retiring in 1994. Frank enjoyed outdoor activities including golf, camping, fishing, canoeing, walking his dog Phoebie, and tending to his garden. He spent many weekends with his family camping at Montauk State Park (MO) and trout fishing in the clear Missouri streams. Frank also spent a considerable amount of his adult life on the golf course. Throughout his golfing carrier he had two hole-in-one's with the latest happening when he was 74 year old. A memorial service will be held at the Longview Farm House 3525 Clayton Rd, St. Louis, MO 63141 at 11am June 3, 2017. Lunch will be provided. Inurnment will be at O'Malley Cemetery, rural Texas Co., MO. Cremation rites have been accorded.
