John R. Erickson, 66, of East Peoria, IL, died at 12 noon, Sunday, November 27, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. He was born on March 23, 1956, son of John A. "Jack" and Carol Brandon Erickson.

Surviving are Jose Erickson, Isabel Erickson, Brandon Erickson, and Xavier Erickson, all of Roanoke, IL, and 1 sister, Donna Brown of Peoria, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather who raised him, Hank McRoberts.

John was the owner and operator of Erickson Steel Co. in Pekin since 1989. He had his pilot license for many years and spent many of his summers at the IVY Club where he raced sailboats with his dad. He was also an art enthusiast, collecting various forms of art and was a member of the Fab Four Fever, a Beatles Tribute Band. John also was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria.

A memorial service will be at 4 pm Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Rev. Dr. Tim Ozment will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:30-4 pm Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
