Obituary WASHINGTON - John "Chills" D. Eaton, 73, of Washington, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria. He was born December 16, 1940 in Peoria to John A. and Margaret L. Neher Eaton. He married Judy Danz on July 7, 1973 in Eureka. She survives. Also surviving are his four children, Maryann Crisp of Canton, Joe (Pam) Crisp of Spring Bay, John (Jennifer) Crisp of Washington, Lori (Terry) Chase of Chillicothe; and eleven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Wilma Johnson. John was a 1958 graduate of Spalding Institute, where he was in the ROTC and then attended Bradley University for 2 years. He worked for the US Postal Service from 1962 to 2002 in the Peoria area, serving as Union Steward. During that time, he also took courses at ICC for Heating, Refrigeration and Welding. He was a member of Ro-Land Manor Baptist Church in Washington. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and gardening. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. A funeral service for John will be at 6:00PM on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with Pastor Steve Hardin officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded following services.
