John W. Clark Jr., 78, of Washington passed away at 5:45am Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born February 18, 1943 in Spokane, WA to John and Erma Johnson Clark. He married Maggie Glasier in Denver, CO on April 22, 1967. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Michael (Caye) Clark; seven grandchildren, Devin, Amber, Renato, James, Adreana, Isaac, Hannah; and three great-grandchildren, Anakin, Erin and Jasper. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Erin.
John was a veteran of the Air National Guard in Peoria. He worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of the River Valley Sportsmen's Club, also serving as treasurer. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed shooting trap and skeet with his friends. He also enjoyed bird hunting with his favorite companion, his loyal dog Jazzy. He loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at the River Valley Sportsmen's Club, 311 E. Lucille Street in East Peoria at 2pm on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Food Bank or Dream Center Peoria.
