Obituary John F. Buckley, Jr., 61, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at 9:43pm, Saturday, September 14, 2013 surrounded by his family at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. John was born May 26, 1952 in Peoria to John F., Sr. and Matilda J. Earl Buckley. Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Charla; son, John (Sarah) Buckley, East Peoria; sisters, Diana L. Forney, Macon, MO and Candice K. Eakman, Peoria; mother, Matilda Buckley; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Paul) Kannenberg, Morton; niece, Stacy Kannenberg and many other nieces and nephews; aunt, Alice Gish, West Peoria; and his faithful canine companion, Max. He was preceded in death by his father, and an uncle, Beryl Gish. John graduated from Peoria Richwoods High School and worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 34 years. He held many positions with Cat, starting in the foundry and retiring in 2007. He was a longtime Chicago Bears fan and was a member of the El Comancheros CB Radio Club. Private family services were held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at El Vista Baptist Church in Peoria.
