John "Jack" Boyer, 79, of East Peoria, passed away at 1:14 pm Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at River Crossing of East Peoria.

He was born August 4, 1943, in East St. Louis, IL to Francis and Marion Winning Boyer.

Surviving are his children, Mike (Denise) Boyer, Greg Boyer, Roger (Kristin) Boyer, Rodney (Kim) Boyer, Bill Boyer, and Heather Boyer; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are his siblings, Carolyn Williams, Mike (Margi) Boyer, Paula (Ed) Brooks, Pat Boyer, Monica Boyer, and Mary Boyer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Chuck Boyer, Eloise Binegar, Claudia Winters, and Keith Wolfe.

Jack attended Spalding High School and was a United States Navy veteran.  He operated MagicSteam, a family-owned carpet cleaning service.

Jack loved to garden.  His favorite car was his 1962 Ford Galaxy convertible, which he treasured.  He was very proud that he was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 45 years.

Cremation has been accorded.  A private service will held at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.
