John A. Blind, 79, of Washington, passed away at 12:33 pm Sunday, January 14, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

John was born February 13, 1944 in Davenport, IA to the late Virginia (Adams) and Morris Blind. He married Donna J. Grimm on July 31, 1965 in Blue Grass, IA. She survives.

Also surviving are his two children, Bruce (Madeline) Blind and Amy (Jeffrey) Durham; three grandchildren, Shannon and Kyle Blind and Shawn Craig; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Blind; and two brothers, Rolland and Clifford Blind.

John was a member of the Quad City Vintage Car Club. He was a member of the Lion's Club in Blue Grass, IA. He was also a former member of the Washington R/C Flyers club. His greatest joy came from spending time with friends and family. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory will be assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
