Jo Crow, 87, of Metamora, passed away at 8:20pm Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.

She was born July 13, 1935 in Blytheville, AR to Clarence and Myrtle Johnson Williamson.  She married Ernest Wesley Crow in Lincoln, Nebraska on June 4, 1960.  He passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Walter D. Williamson; and her nephew, Duane Williamson.

Surviving are two children, Jennifer (Daniel) Sarver of Creve Coeur, and Steven E. Crow of Bartonville; and one grandson, Shaun W. Sarver.

Jo worked as a research chemist at the Lincoln University School of Medicine and at the VA Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska.  After moving to Illinois she worked at the Ag Labs in Peoria, and then as a 7th and 8th Grade Science Teacher at Metamora Junior High School for 22 years before retiring.  She received the Illinois Teacher of the Year Award in 2001 and was very proud of that.  She will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held from noon to 5pm Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Christian Union Church in Metamora.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sun Foundation, Metamora Women's Club, or P.E.O. Chapter OC.
