JoAnn Armstrong, 62, of Metamora, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born December 2, 1960 in Peoria to the late George and Flora Nicholson Krell. She married Dan Armstrong on August 22, 1992 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington.

Surviving is her husband Dan; her children, Jeremy Aldag and Nikki (Joe) Terrini; her grandchildren, Scarlett, Raphael, and Mirajane; and her brother, Ronnie Krell.

She was also preceded in death by he son, Joseph Aldag.

Jo graduated from East Peoria Community High School and later worked for OSF. She had a flair for decorating, especially for Christmas, and incorporating her favorite color purple. Her grandkids were her joy and she loved being with them, shopping for them, and spoiling them any chance she had. She was a good friend to everyone and loved dogs, even bringing home surprise puppies on occasion.

In keeping with Jo's wishes, graveside service will be held at 11:30am Friday, October 6, 2023 at Glendale Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her son, Joe. A private funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
