Jim Yount, 92, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:50am Monday, April 17, 2023 at Snyder Village Health Center.

Jim was born January 4, 1931 in Casey, IL to the late Ray and Novah Bartley Yount. He married Patricia Foster on September 2, 1950 in Crawfordsville, IN.

Surviving is his wife, Pat; their children, Brian (Kelley) Yount, Julie (Tim) Tucker, Stacey (Ted) Nauman, and Karen (Randy) Rennau; 5 grandchildren, Camille, Tyler, Leigh, Braden, and Elise; 4 great-grandchildren, Claire, Holly, Koe, and Tripp; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Henry.  He was preceded in death by two great-grand babies born sleeping, Piper and Luca.

Jim served in the US Air Force before going to work at Caterpillar. He retired from Cat in 1990, after 40 years of service. He was an active member of Sunnyland Christian Church, serving as an Elder. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family, working in his wood shop, and attending Cardinals, Bradley, or Chiefs games.

Private family services will be held and interment will be at Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ARK Animal Shelter in Lacon or TAPS in Pekin.
