Jim L. Irions, 73, of Peoria Heights passed away at 8:26 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Lakeside Rehabilitation and Health. Jim was born July 17, 1947 in Chillicothe to the late Oria L. and Vera Sauder Irions. He married Libbie Arnold on March 28, 1972 in Reno, NV; she preceded him in death on August 9, 2020. Surviving are two sons, James (significant other, Jennifer Frakes) Chennault of Peoria Heights and Todd (Valerie) Irions of Washington; seven grandchildren, Amber Cade, Katie Chennault, Tabitha Chennault, Gabe, Abram, Grayson and Warren Irions; two great-grandchildren, Kaylei and Jordan; and siblings, Warren (late Lucy) Irions and Karen Halverson. Jim served in the US Air Force for 6 years and was honorably discharged in 1972. He retired from Komatsu after 35 years of service. Jim was a man of great faith and served as a pastor for 5 years. He was also passionate about writing, often combining his talent with his faith to interpret God's word for others. A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 11am at Connect Church in Washington. Visitation will be a half hour prior to the service at the church. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
