Obituary
Jim Hippen, 62, of Trivoli, IL, died at 2:44 pm Sunday, October 10, 2010 at his home.
Born on September 23, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Arnold and Pauline (King) Hippen, he married Jeanna Scheiner on October 6, 1990 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are 6 children, Jamie (Mike) Wallace of Manito, IL, Mindy (Billy) Murphy of Lexington, IL, Holly Hippen of Eureka, IL, James A. Hippen of Hanna City, IL, Charles (Cindy) Scheiner Jr. of Eureka, IL, Amy (Ben) Vignassi of Pekin, IL; 1 brother, Jerry (Karla) Hippen of Germantown Hills, IL; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Jim was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
In his automotive career, Jim worked for several dealerships in the Peoria area, last working as a salesman for Sam Leman Auto Stop in Pekin. He was a 25 year Charter Member of the Land of Lincoln Satin Club. He was also a member of the American Rabbit Breeders Association, Illinois Rabbit Breeders Association, and the Peoria Area Rabbit Breeders.
Jim never knew a stranger and enjoyed meeting people, sharing stories with everyone he met. He was a soft-hearted and loving man who will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, October 15, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. Clarence Mankin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Trivoli.
