Obituary Washington-Jesse C. Shelton, Jr., 64 of Washington, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL after a long struggle with heart problems. Jesse was born on October 18, 1948 in Henderson, TN to Dorthey Robinson Shelton and the late Jesse C. Shelton, Sr. Surviving besides his mother are two sisters, Deborah Heller of Creve Coeur and Patricia Poore of Peoria; nieces and nephews, Tonya (Ritchie) Higdon of Peoria, Chad, Steven, Sean and two great-nephews. Jesse was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. Jesse worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 31 years retiring on May 1, 2000. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid sports fan and was a supporter of Tennessee Volunteer Football, Indianapolis Colts and LA Dodgers. Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Rev. Doug Hicks will officiate. Honoring Jesse's wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the service and private burial of cremains will take place in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will take place on Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the time of service.
