Obituary Washington - Jesse B. Blair Jr., 93, of Washington, passed away at 1:23 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria. He was born October 17, 1921 in Blue Mound, IL to Jesse Baldwin and Hazel Pearl Culbertson Blair. He married Wanda L. Merrifield in Canton on October 24, 1948. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Alcocer of Florida, Vickie Post of Normal, Diane (Robert) Burnham of Metamora; two grandsons, Cris and Chad Post; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Jesse was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran serving from 1943 to 1946. He worked at Rocket Coal Company in Peoria from 1939 to 1940 then started at Caterpillar Inc. in 1940 until his retirement in 1979. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, pool and spending time with his family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Private services will be held at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Morton.
