Obituary TAYLORVILLE-Jerry Kiesow, 80, of Taylorville, IL, died at 9:45 am Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at her residence. Born on December 12, 1929 in Peoria, IL to Henry Nathan and Jessie Ardella Belote Nieukirk, she married Gerald Arthur Kiesow on December 3, 1948 in Jacksonville, IL. He preceded her in death on November 7, 2002 in Joliet, IL. Surviving are 4 sons, Dave (Tommra) Kiesow of Petersburg, IL, John (Sandy) Kiesow of Plainfield, IL, Dale (Janice) Kiesow of Smyrna, GA, Vince (Cindy) Kiesow of Woodlawn, IL; 1 step-daughter, Michelle (Mike) Aldridge of San Francisco, CA; 2 sisters, Delores Hoffman of Morton, IL, Darlene Johnson of Chattanooga, TN; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 sons, James and Matthew, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Velma was a homemaker. She was very active in PTA and was a life member, past president and board member of Illinois State PTA. Velma and her husband were very active in the Joliet Ramblers Motorcycle Club. She always looked forward to camping with her grandchildren every year. She loved redbirds and flower gardening. There will be a graveside service at 10:45 am Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Rev. Dr. Philip Icenogle will officiate.
