Jerry D. Gendron, 74, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:13 am Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Sharon Elms in Peoria.

He was born February 24, 1947 in Shady Valley, TN to Clyde Raymond and Evelyn Jones Haynes.  He married Nancy Fredericks.  She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Scott (Shelia) Chaney, Kevin (Tonya) Chaney, Jerime (Jamie) Gendron, Anthony (Elaine) Chaney, LD (Jennifer) Chaney; 14 grandchildren, Erin, Tyler, Brittany, Ashley, Kyle, Jerime, Jackson, Kane, Colton, Payton, Cassidy, McKinzie, Lauren, and Thomas; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom (Christy) Gendron.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Timothy.

Jerry was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He worked as an independent truck driver for over 50 years and loved being on the road.  He was a member of the American Legion.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.  He will be dearly missed.

Private services will be held with burial in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
