Jerlyn A. Bailey, 92, of Washington, IL died at 6:33 pm Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Richard L. Owens

Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

Born on March 4, 1931 in Ft. Madison, IA to Wesley and Hildred Sayers Dobson, she married Leonard

"Len" Bailey on August 14, 1954 in Ft. Madison, IA. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2011 in

Eureka, IL. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Dobson.

Surviving are 2 children; Chad (Denise) Bailey of Washington, IL and Brooke Bailey of Coral Gables, FL, 2

grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Jerlyn was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington, where she sang in the

church choir. She attended countless ballgames for her children over the years. From Little League

through College, Jerlyn was there in the stands. She loved to cook, enjoyed decorating, and was a

talented painter and artist. She also enjoyed socializing with her neighbors, and entertaining in her

home. She and Len enjoyed many cruises and trips during their retirement.

She placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in her life. Jerlyn faithfully cared for her

husband, Len, as his health declined.

Services will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to The Christian Center at 4100 N.

Brandywine Dr., Peoria, IL 61614. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the

family with arrangements.
