Jenny Lynn (Boatright) Spooner, 69, lost her battle with cancer on December 5, 2020 at 6:00 AM at her home.
Jenny was born in Harrisburg, Illinois on July 18, 1951 to Robert L. Boatright and Dorothy J. (Fowler) Boatright. She married Dale Spooner in Peoria, Illinois on October 28, 1994.
Jenny's favorite things to do were to read and garage sale. Her love of books allowed her to be a Librarian at Riverview Grade School in Spring Bay, Illinois. She loved to read and challenge the students there to read and discuss with her what they were reading. Her love of garage sales allowed her to find, repair or repurpose various items. She was especially fond of oak furniture pieces.
She is survived by her husband Dale Spooner of Washington; daughter Leslie Auman of Eureka, her son Robert Curtis lll Of Lockport, Illinois and his wife, Dede; grandchildren Nicole Camp and Scot Camp, and Ellie Curtis and Molly Curtis; great-grandchild Payton Camp; sisters and brother, Cinda Wilson and her husband Michael of Bloomington, Illinois, Robert Boatright Jr. of East Peoria, Illinois and Lisa Dearing of Peoria, Illinois.
Jenny was predeceased by her father, Robert Boatright and one younger sister, Nancy Boatright.
Due to Covid-19 there will not be a memorial at Deiters Funeral and Crematory. A Celebration of Life at her home will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded.
Jenny has requested no flowers but donations can be made in her name to the OSF Hospice at 2265 W. Altorfer Drive, Peoria, Illinois 61615.
