Obituary Jeffrey C. Hoover, 64, of Delavan, IL, died at 4:51 pm Friday, August 4, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on August 15, 1952 in Quantico, VA to Wilbur and Eileen Hoover, he married Elizabeth A. Chlada on December 29, 1979 in Killeen, TX. She survives. Also surviving are 3 sons, Jeffrey C. (Dianna) Hoover Jr. of Champaign-Urbana, IL, Toby (Patti) Hoover, of Bloomington-Normal, IL and Donald Hoover (Rebecca) of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, several step-brothers and step-sisters, and 3 grandchildren, Todd, Aaron, and Kathryn. A 1971 graduate of Delavan High School, Jeff was an accomplished Musician who served with the United States Army for over 20 years in various locations throughout the world. He attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He also was an avid bowler who received two 299 rings, enjoyed watching movies, and anything to do with space. His talent and creativity in music allowed him to participate in many parades and concerts over the years. A celebration of life service will be from 6:30 to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Delavan American Legion Post #382, 118 E. 3rd St. Delavan, IL 61734, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Army at 7:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to the Delavan Ambulance Rescue Squad in appreciation for all the help over the past several years.
