Obituary
Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Garren, age 51, of Germantown Hills, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018 at 3:18 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a long battle with diabetes.
Jeff was born on September 23, 1966, to Wayne and Cassandra Garren.
Surviving are Angie Garren (Underwood) of Germantown Hills, one daughter, Ainsly Garren, one son, Tristin Garren, his mother, Cassandra Garren of Peoria, and one nephew, Greyson Garren of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his father, his three brothers, Gregory, Steven and Craig, and one sister, Cassie.
Jeff graduated from Washington Community High School in 1984. He then began his career at Morton Buildings as a Drafting Technician on October 7, 1987. During his 30 year career he had moved throughout Design Services in different roles as Construction Estimator, Design Estimator, Project Manager, and most recently a Senior Sales Estimator and always a mentor. Jeff added value to everything he worked on and had a passion for tackling more challenging projects.
Jeff enjoyed coaching his son's JFL team, and enjoyed fishing with him. He always loved going to his children's sporting events and spending time with them. He was a Chicago Bears and a Chicago Cubs fan along with his son.
Services will be at 11 am Monday, January 22, 2018 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Chris Genders will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to an education fund for his children at CEFCU or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
