Jeanne Sunderlin, 92, of Washington, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria

She was born May 8, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to the late Waldo and Dorothy Birkhead Fischer. She married Donald E. Sunderlin on February 3, 1951 in Elsberry, MO; he preceded her in death in 2013.

She is survived by her son, Dean A. (Samantha) of Minnesota; her daughter, Mary E. (Herb) Daggers of Colorado; and her grandson, Thomas Daggers, also of Colorado.

Jeanne enjoyed being outdoors and in nature, whether it was canoeing the Boundary Waters with her family, playing golf or just walking through the neighborhoods of Washington. She enjoyed her community by being active in PEO, serving on the Washington Township Library Board, and worked to preserve the City Square. Jeanne was blessed to be able to travel the world, both experientially and through books. She never read a bad book. She was a voracious reader and was involved in several book clubs during her lifetime.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
