Obituary Washington - Jeanette "Jean" K. Alder, 73, of Washington, IL passed away at 7:05 AM Thursday, December 20, 2012 at her home. Jean was born on March 5, 1939 in Peoria, IL to Joseph T. and Dorothy Mathis McReynolds. She married Phillip A. Alder on June 6, 1969 in Peoria, he survives. Surviving Jean are 4 children, Pamela (Mark) Reinhold and Donnie (Monique) Schlipf, both of Washington, IL, Mischelle (Robert "Buddy") Holley of Columbia, MO, and Tonya (Tim) Smith of Hattiesburg, MS. Also 7 grandchildren, Joshua Reinhold, Derek Schlipf, Cody and Tyler Dannells, Harley, Shaun, and Gabriel Smith, and 1 great grandchild, Avalyn. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 half brother, Dale McReynolds. Jean was a waitress and a homemaker throughout life. She had worked at Mt. Hawley Inn and Jumer's Castle Lodge Restaurant in Peoria. Jean was a faithful member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. She was also a past president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 100 in Washington. In her spare time Jean enjoyed spending time gardening, fishing, bird watching, and making sure that her home was spotless. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. Pastor Fred Doughty will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Glad Tidings, there will be additional visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
