Obituary
Jean W. Sauder, 84, of Washington, died at 12:50 PM, on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at Manor Care at Riverview in East Peoria, IL.
She was born on August 9, 1922 in Eureka, to Edgar and Dagmar Honnett Wallace. She married Chester "Chet" Sauder on November 24, 1945 in Peoria, he survives.
Jean is also survived her 2 sons, Alan , and Todd Sauder both of Washington; 1 daughter, Sharon (Joe) Trevathan of Cypress, TX; 1 brother, Robert Wallace of Boca Raton , FL; 3 sisters, Anne (Fred) Leman of Libertyville, Peg Thierer of Roanoke, and Nancy (Royce) Masterson of Glenview; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She was a proud US Navy Veteran, Serving during World War II.
She was a legal secretary for Kenneth W. Black, Sr. in Washington. She had also been a volunteer on the Suicide Prevention Hotline, and was on the Board of Mental Health in Tazewell County. She also belonged to the D.A.R.
She was a member of the Washington Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Cremation rites will follow the visitation.
A memorial service in celebration of the life of Jean will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2006, at the Washington Presbyterian Church, The Rev. Jennifer Sakata will officiate. Inurnment of cremated remains will be private at Roanoke Township Cemetery.
