Jean Jones, 73, of Washington, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born November 20, 1950 in Peoria, Illinois to the late Mario and Jennie Pentimone Spatafore.  She married Robert Jones on December 18, 1976 in Peoria.  He preceded her in death on August 22, 2023.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Maria Spatafore.

Surviving are two children, Stephanie Martinek, Anthony "Tony" Jones; two grandchildren, Kayelee and Hayden Martinek; two brothers, Michael (Lisa) Spatafore, Steve (Shannyn) Spatafore; and five nieces and nephews, Jacob (Heather), Zak, Jason (Andrea), Corey and Destynie; and seven great nieces and nephews, Logan, Quinn, Tyler, Tessa, Trevor, Rex and Jay.

Jean worked as a surgical tech at Methodist Hospital until becoming a stay at home mom.  She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington.  While residing at The Loft in Eureka, she served alongside her husband as vice president of the residence committee.  She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends.  She will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm Friday, August 16th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Visitation will be 2 hours before the service from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
