Obituary Janice Kay Childers Vincent, 43, of Morton, formerly of Washington, passed away at 5:23pm Monday, September 14, 2015. Janice was born January 2, 1972 in Peoria to Robert A. "Pete" and Cynthia I. (Jackson) Childers. She is survived by her parents and their spouses, Pete (Diane) Childers of Washington and Cindy (Larry) Cassidy of East Peoria; fianc, Neal Weidman; children, Mike, Nick, Billy, Shelby, Cameron, and Kevan; grandchildren, Brayden and Natalie; brothers and sisters, Darryl, Kari, Chris and Ryan; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Colton, Carly, Cady, Cami Jo, and Kara; aunts and uncles, Gregg, Pam, Jo, Steve, Nellie, Eddie, Kenny, Barb, and Lucy; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; aunt Carol Childers; and uncle, Dennis Roese. Janice graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1990 and then from Methodist College of Nursing in Peoria. She last worked as a home health nurse for CareSolutions in Morton. She was a member of Faith Church in Washington. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Pastor Rick Brisbin will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Church or Illinois Cancer Care in Peoria. Janice has won her battle with lung cancer. She took her last breath in the arms of Neal, her rock, and was surrounded by her loving family and friends. She opened her eyes in Heaven; no more cancer, no more pain. Jesus took her in His arms and said, "Welcome home." Even though this terrible disease was robbing her of her earthly life, she always had that infectious, beautiful smile for everyone to see. Through the difficult times, she would say "I win, not this disease." And she has won!
