Obituary
WASHINGTON - Janice Kay Plue, 71, of Washington, passed away from pancreatic cancer, at 2:24pm on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her home.
Born on May 2, 1945 in Peoria to Verne Zellers Hall and Evelyn Elaine Bortzfield; she married David Walter Sander on June 14, 1964 in Peoria. She later married James Franklin Plue on August 2, 1970 in East Peoria, and they enjoyed 45 wonderful years of marriage.
Surviving is her daughter, Jennica Elaine Cross (Brandon Streit) of Dunlap; granddaughter, Mackenzie Lauren Cross; her mother, Elaine Allonby of Peoria; her sister, Linda Nell Allison of Peoria; her brother, Charles Raymond Allison of East Peoria; and her step-children, Robyn (Eric) Horn, Randy Plue, and Richard Plue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in February 2016; son, David Walter Sander Jr. in December 1973; step-son, Ronald J. Plue in July 1979; and her father.
Jan retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. after 35 years of service. She was a member of Highview Christian Church in Washington. Jan loved her pets and considered them family. She traveled the world with Jim, Jennica, and her family and friends, and also enjoyed making handmade cards for every occasion.
A funeral service for Jan will be held at 2:00pm, Friday July 8, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Midwest Affiliate.
