Janice Marie Brekke, 62, of Washington, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at her home.

She was born on November 22, 1962 to the late James L. and Janet L. (Powers) Taylor in Denver, CO. She married Todd Brekke in 1993 in Washington; they later divorced, but remain close friends.

Janice is survived by her children, Bonnie Marie (Jacob) Landgrebe, Richard "Wade" Brekke, James Colton Brekke, and Jolyn Dawn Brekke; her grandchildren, Ava Marie and Lanie Ann McGlothlin, and Jacey, Eleah, and Landon Landgrebe; her great granddaughter, Ily Marie McGlothlin; her siblings, Julie Eklund, Jeff (Mindy) Taylor, and James Taylor; and her dog, Oscar.

Janice loved being a mom, and made many memories with her family. She was a natural born caretaker who dedicated her time to being a hardworking stay at home mom. Janice was an aspiring blues singer/ songwriter and she enjoyed poetry. She always had an outgoing attitude towards life that allowed her to connect with others easily. She never knew a stranger. Janice also enjoyed cooking. She will be dearly missed by many.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
