Janeth L. Dietrich, 72, passed away peacefully at OSF Richard L.  Owens Hospice Home at 2:37am on March 14th, 2026. She fought hard for her wings, and she is back home with her mom and dad.

She was born on October 12th, 1953, to James M. Dailey and Mavis C. Dailey. They preceded her in death.

She married William A. Dietrich, the love of her life, on January 29th, 1977. He survives.

Also surviving are sons Zak (Kristabelle) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Josh of Washington; granddaughters Madison, Allie, and Ava; her brother Jim, and sister-in-law Becky.

Jan was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church, and is finally at home with her Lord and Savior.

In 1972, she began a long career at Caterpillar, where she met many of her lifelong friends.

She instilled in her children the importance of family, above all else. She put everybody else's needs above her own, until the day arrived when she no longer could. It was through her example that her children learned the value of love and, in turn, they have passed it down to their own children. She, along with their father, created a happy, stable home whose foundation was built on cherished memories that have become the stories that will be told for years to come.

It is through those stories that she will be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pleasant Valley Missionary Baptist Church Food Bank in Washington.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, March 19th at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
