Janet Taylor, 84, of Washington, passed away peacefully at her home at 7:45am Monday, June 13, 2022.

She was born December 31, 1937 in Peoria, IL to the late Benjamin and Leona Ross Powers.  She married James Taylor.  He preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George Powers, and Ben L. Powers.  She is survived by four children, Jeff (Mindy) Taylor, Julie Taylor, Janice Brekke, James Taylor; ten grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Eichelkraut, Joan Barwick, Nancy (Jim) Rollings; and three sister-in-laws, Nita Powers, Sharon Clark, and Joanne Taylor.

Janet was a Washington Community High School Graduate in 1956, where she was the Homecoming Queen in 1955.  She enjoyed working as a baker at Katie's Café in Washington for several years before retiring.  She was a member of the Washington Evangelical United Methodist Church.  She will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded.  Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton at a later date.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
