Obituary Jenette M. "Janet" Lucas, 80, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:15pm, Friday, April 11, 2014 at Morton Terrace Care Center, Morton. Janet was born January 26, 1934 in Peoria, to Roy and Myrtle Moore Winchester. She married Stephen Lucas December 20, 1953 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death in 2010. Surviving are two children, Kathy Lucas of Round Lake and Ed (Melba) Lucas of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Phillip Stoecker, Anna Stoecker, Kayla Lucas, and Megan Lucas. She was also preceded in death by one brother and her parents. Janet graduated from East Peoria Community High School, and later worked for JC Penney and Caterpillar. She retired from Peoria High School after many years of service in the cafeteria. Golfing was a hobby she enjoyed, as well as playing cards. She played on the Fondulac Golf League, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. Most importantly, Janet loved spending time with her family and friends. A funeral service for Janet will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Pastor Mary Arnold will officiate.
