Obituary East Peoria - Janet S. Eaton, 69, of East Peoria died on Sunday December 30, 2012 at 6:54 AM at Manorcare at Riverview in East Peoria. She was born on August 22, 1943 in Eldorado, IL to Fred and Jewel Faught Rice Jr. She married Randy Eaton on July 14, 1973 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her father Fred. Janet is survived by her mother, Jewel of Pensacola, FL, one son; Ed (Beth) Olehy of Peoria and one daughter; Carrie (Jim) Miles of East Peoria, four grandchildren; Brandon (Amy) Vermillion, Brody Vermillion, Shea Olehy and Drew Olehy. One sister Hazel Dobyns of Pensacola, FL also survives. Janet worked twenty-five years as a Teacher's Aid for SEAPCO in several area schools. She retired in 1991. She was a member of East Peoria First United Methodist Church. She loved reading and traveling with her friends as well as attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Janet was a devoted mother and grandmother. She fought cancer courageously for seven months, battling all the way to the end. There will be a funeral service for Janet on Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 7 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Mary Arnold will officiate.
