Jane Gay Smith, 81, of Metamora, passed away at 4:00 am Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Snyder Village Health Care in Metamora. She was born March 9, 1939 in Peoria, IL to William and Edna Schnur Myers. She married Marvin Frantz in East Peoria on October 12, 1958. She later married Art Smith in East Peoria on December 10, 2005. He survives. Also surviving are her son, Tim (Mary) Frantz of Columbia, MO; two granddaughters, Miranda Frantz of Normal, Alyson (Matt) Thorp of El Paso. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Dana Frantz; and her brother, William Myers. Jane worked for the Commercial Bank for 20 years as a data processing supervisor. She later was a bus monitor with the East Peoria District special needs bus, CSR at Versa Press, St. Patrick Day Care Center office manager, and worked in retail clothing. She was a member of the East Peoria First United Methodist Church. Due to Covid-19, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to her church or to Snyder Village Residents in Need Fund.
