Obituary WASHINGTON - Jane E. Rust, 76 of Washington, IL died Thursday June 30, 2011 at Washington Christian Village in Washington, IL. Jane was born on September 26, 1934 to Harold and Gladys Laird Rust in Pekin, IL. Surviving is 1 sister, Marian (David) Kasley of Pekin, IL, 1 brother Dr. James Rust of Atlanta, GA, 2 nieces Kathryn (Howard) Ash of Chicago, IL, and Mary (Leonard) Lee of Hayworth, IL, 1 nephew William (Helen) Kasley of Half Moon Bay, CA, 3 grand nieces, and 2 grand nephews. Also surviving are two good friends and caretakers, Kay Drake and Sue Emhoff, both of Washington, IL. Jane was preceded in death by her parents. Jane received her Bachelor's degree at Western Illinois University and her Master's degree at Bradley University. Beginning in 1956, Jane taught in the Business Department at Washington Community High School, where she also served as a department chair. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, IL, a charter member of Business and Professional Women and a member of Professional Women's Organization. She was also a charter member of the Illinois Beta Omacron Chapter, and a member of Tazewell County Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter, the Illinois Education Association, and the National Education Association. Jane enjoyed the companionship of her loving cat, Christy. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Jane's caregivers at Home Healthcare Plus for all their loving care. Services for Jane will be at 11 am Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Chaplain Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
