James "Nick" Volk, 80, of Washington, passed away at 6:48am Sunday, January 15, 2023 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born May 17, 1942 in Spring Valley, IL to the late Berent N. and Josephine A. Bray Volk.  He married Judith A. Jereb in Oglesby on September 28, 1963.  She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Teri (Leon) Mundy, Nick (Jaime) Volk; four grandchildren, Jesse and Christian Mundy, Alex and Anna Volk; six siblings, Don (Sandy) Volk, Joanne Fleming, Lois (Pete) Bistolfo, Bob Volk, Tom Volk, and Ed (Karen) Volk.

Nick worked as an engineer with McDougal-Hartmann for over 25 years before retiring.

He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington where his Memorial Mass will be held at 11am Saturday, January 21, 2023.  Visitation will be one hour before the Mass, from 10 to 11am on Saturday at church.  Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Patrick School in Washington.
