Obituary

Obituary James F. Plue, 80, of Washington, passed away at 11:39pm Monday, February 22, 2016 at Morton Terrace Care Center. Jim was born November 30, 1935 in Bloomington, IL to the late Frank and Grace Plue. He married Phyllis Sue Burgan February 16, 1956; he later married Janice Kay Sander August 2, 1970. Surviving is his wife, Jan of Washington; his children Jennica Cross (Brandon Streit), Robyn (Eric) Horn, Randy Plue, and Richard Plue; grandchildren, Mackenzie Cross, Erica Bell, Shelby Finley, Nathan Plue, and Hannah Plue; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon and Tristan Bell; siblings, Don Plue, Ed Plue, Pat Estes, Phyllis Gordon, Terry Plue, Kathy Moews, Jimmy Plue and Michelle Clayton. He was also preceded in death by 2 sons, Ronald Plue and David Sander, Jr.; and 5 siblings, Linda Streeter, Rick Plue, Jack Reiner, Mary Ellen Allen and Barb Lamoreaux. Jim worked for 13 years at Excello in Elwood. He went on to work for Caterpillar, retiring in 1997 after 30 years of service. Jim was very active, and liked to keep busy working in the garden or exercising. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed planning the trips he and Jan took. Jim loved the thrill every time he entered a car dealership and purchased a new vehicle. In his younger years, he was also a motorcycle enthusiast. Most important to Jim was his family; he loved spending time with kids and grandkids. He was a member of Highview Christian Church in Washington. Jim's funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Friday, February 26, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be prior to the service, from noon-2:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
