Jim Young, Jr., 66, of Lowpoint, passed away at 6:10 am Tuesday, December 26, 2023.

Jim was born February 27, 1957 in Mesa, AZ to the late Bonnie Rae (Osborn) and James L. Young, Sr. He married Dolores "Dodi" Wilson on September 1, 1984 in Washington, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his two children, Debbie (Luke) Prudoel and Jenny Young; his sister, Susie (John) Phillips; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister Sherri Young.

Jim has been a member of the Bayview Baptist Church for over 40 years. For several years he was known to help out his congregation by driving the bus. He was also an usher there for many years. In his free time, Jim loved to spend time outdoors. He enjoyed going on camping trips to hunt and fish. At home he could often be found outside working in his "picture perfect" garden. He was fond of spending time with his wife Dodi and enjoyed taking her on camping trips down to Lake Shelbyville. Jim was a loving husband and a wonderful friend. He will be dearly missed.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation has been accorded.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bayview Baptist Church in Washington.
