James S. "Butch" Davis, 77, of Peoria, passed away at 8:35am Friday, January 26, 2024 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born December 22, 1946 in Tuscola to the late James E. and Laura L. Watson Davis. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Sandra Bridwell and her husband George, Sharon Starr, and William Davis.

Surviving is his son, Craig (Jennifer) Whitlatch; sister, Marsha (Allen) Pierantoni; his aunt, Wauneta Bennett; his many nieces and nephews and their families; as well as his sister in law Marilyn Antrim, and brother in law Larry Starr.

Butch served his county in the US Air Force from 1966-1970. He went on to work at Caterpillar, retiring after many years of service. Whether it was a flower, a stray animal, or a person, Butch was ready and willing to care for it. His selfless love will be remembered by so many that he freely gave it to.

A graveside service will military honors will be held at 10:30am Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
