Obituary WASHBURN-James F. Crim Sr., 94, of Washburn, formerly of East Peoria passed away at 4:30 AM Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was born on April 2, 1920 in Peoria, IL to Walter L. and Maude L. Sleeth Crim. He married Ruth Nelson on June 6, 1943 and later married Evelyn Hiland on December 22, 1962; they both preceded him in death. He then married Patricia Telfer on July 6, 1991 in Washburn; she survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Becky (Rick) Stahl of Aurora, James (Hope) Crim Jr. of Calhan, CO, Lyns Crim of East Peoria, Lori (Rob) Jones of Tremont and Lari (Jan) Crim of East Peoria; 2 step-children, Bill Telfer and Debbie (Roger) Downing; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Elizabeth Powers; and 3 brothers, Bill (Shirley) Stear, Ron (Velma) Stear, and Harold (Bev) Stear. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, John, Frank, and Gene; and 1 infant brother, Melvin. James was a WW II Navy Veteran. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 44 years, retiring in 1982 as Planning and Tooling Manager. James was a member of the Washburn Village Board and First United Methodist Church in Peoria. He was a former President of the Bradley Chiefs Club. He was an avid Cubs and Bradley Basketball fan, and enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, JDRF, or Vets Helping Heroes. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria with Rev. Pat Jones officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Friday, November 14, 2014 at the funeral home with further visitation 1 hour before services on Saturday.
