Obituary PEORIA- James A Blakey, 89, of Peoria passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 9:50 P.M. surrounded by his family. James was born on May 14, 1927 in Wyoming, IL, to John Blakey & Beulah Curtman-Blakey. He is survived by four daughters, Pam Kinney of Peoria, IL, Theresa (George) Goddard of Melbourne, FL, Carol (David) Miller of North Port, FL and Bernadette (Robert) Chaney of Peoria, IL; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, one grand daughter, four brothers & one sister. He served in World War II with the European Finance Division of the Army. He graduated with accounting degree from Browns Business College. He worked at Keystone Steel & Wire for 23 years, as Accounting Supervisor retiring in 1982. He was a member of the American Legion Post 979 Bartonville, IL and VFW Post 3883 in Peoria, IL. James most enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no service. Memorial contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation, Helping Military Families.
