Obituary Jacqueline "Jackie" Berkley, 87, of Batavia, formerly of East Peoria, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. She was born July 31, 1929 in Golden Pond, KY to George R. and Dewey V. Ahart Dixon. She married Edmond R. Berkley in Hopkinsville, KY on Feb. 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sue Patroff; sister, Nova Lee Wendt; and 3 brothers, Eura "Doc", Charles and James Dixon. Surviving are 2 daughters, Vicki (and Doug) Jones of Batavia; Joy (and Brad) Badgerow of East Peoria; 5 grandchildren, John (and Dee) Patroff of Brimfield, Mandi (and Dustin) Washburn of Washington, Meghan Badgerow of Peoria, Tara Jones and fianc, Kyle Baltzer of Batavia, Matthew Jones of Batavia; 3 great-grandchildren, John G. Patroff, Lauren and Reagan Washburn; 1 sister, Christine Berkley of East Peoria; and 2 sister-in-laws, Edra and Evelyn Dixon. Jackie was a member and worked with the Day Care at the East Peoria First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Good Sam Camping Club where she served as secretary and helped with Special Olympics, and was an active member and volunteer of the East Peoria VFW Women's Auxiliary. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of her daughter, Sue Patroff. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with Rev. Walter Wilkins officiating.
