Obituary
Jack W. Quell, 80, of East Peoria, IL died at 11:50 am Saturday, October 15, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born on December 12, 1930 in Burlington, IA to Lyman C. and Ethel M. Petty Quell, he married Carol J. Rennick on June 14, 1997 at the First United Methodist Church in Peoria. She survives.
Surviving are his children, Jeffrey (Mary) Quell of Cedar Rapids, IA, Dr. David Quell of Shorewood, IL, and Rebecca (Russell) Underwood of East Peoria, 5 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, 3 step-children, Bonnie (John) Hogan of Palatine, IL, Jeffrey (Sue) Blevins of Rockford, IL, and John (Leslie) Blevins of Park City, UT, and 5 step-grandchildren. He was previously married to Beverly Quell of Peoria.
Jack was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Quell.
He received a degree in architecture from the University of Illinois. Active in the construction business for 50 years, Jack was the President of Quell Builders in Peoria.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at Methodist Medical Center, both in Peoria.
A memorial service will be at 11 am Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Peoria. Rev. Dr. Robert Phillips will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. Cremation rites will be accorded and inurnment will be private at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
