Obituary

Isabella Marie Moore, 9, of Washington, passed away at OSF St. Francis Medical Center on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Isabella was born December 23, 2016 in Peoria, the youngest child of Jared R. and Evita A. (Garnett) Moore. She leaves behind her family who deeply loved her, including her parents; her siblings, Savannah, Connor, Aidan and Sean; her grandparents; Gerald and Rita Moore and Gary "Bill" and Caroline Garnett; along with her aunts and uncles, William "Darren" Moore (Eva), Gabe Garnett (Sarah Tuxhorn), Seth Garnett (Cora), Ana Till (Nick), Alicia Brown (Clayton), and Franklin Garnett; and her cousins, Jenna, Jake, Mia, Ari, Corbin, Mason, Owen, Carson, Theo, Noelle, and baby boy Garnett(arrival 8/2026), and many extended family.

Isabella's life story defied the odds, proved the inherent value of every life, and that given the opportunity a child with Trisomy 18 is indeed COMPATIBLE WITH LIFE. She served as an inspiration to those who knew her. Trisomy 18 presented countless challenges and required additional care and her siblings were always ready to step up and help her. She was a fighter and every minute she had on earth was defined by mutual love between Bella and everyone who had the opportunity to care for her. This was especially true of her siblings and Mom who cared for her at home most of the time without nursing, and Dad when home sharing in all her snuggles. While her Dad worked hard to provide for the whole family, allowing her mom to stay home. Even during all her hospitalizations we hardly left her alone so she always had a family member there so she knew she wasn't alone. She loved being with her family, especially attending her siblings' band concerts, basketball, soccer and Baseball games. She would light up and recognize her siblings, often touching their faces, or pouting at them because she hadn't seen them in a few hours, . Bella will be remembered for her smile, her sassiness, her "trisomy arm" poses (if you know you know), her ability to sleep through therapy then wake up the moment we got to the car to go home, her laughter when siblings were yelled at to stop their shenanigans and the wonderful blessing of her life itself. Her siblings will remember her playful nature of whacking you in the face and smiling so big letting you know she loved you… she'll be greatly missed and loved the rest of our days.

A ceremony to honor her life will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Please wear light blue for Trisomy 18. Her family will receive guests from 10:00am until noon. She will rest at Glendale Cemetery in Washington following a private burial service.

In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to SOFT (Support Organization for Trisomy 18) or the Kirk Edwards Foundation, both to help other families with similar needs. You may also contribute plants or seed packets of blue or purple flowers to help grow Bella's memorial garden at the family home.
