Obituary Washington - Irene H. Eichenberger Youngman, 90, of Washington, died at 4:12 PM on Thursday February 14, 2013 at Heartland Health Care of Peoria. She was born on September 23, 1922 in Peoria to Ernest P. and Lela Lasley Stomberg. She married Frederick Eichenberger on January 25, 1942 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on January 12, 1992. She later married Dewey E. Youngman on June 1, 1994 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2006. Irene is survived by three daughters; Janet Eichenberger of Richmond, VA, Nancy Shaw of Cincinatti, Ohio, and Rebecca Eichenberger of Washington, two step-sons; Dwayne (Evelyn) Youngman of Sparta, TN and Robert (Judy) Youngman of Bartonville, two grandchildren; Jessica and Adam Shaw, 7 step-grandchildren , 12 step great-grandchildren and 3 step great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, sister and one step-grandchild. Irene first worked for Manpower in Peoria in the typing pool for several years. She then worked as a secretary for the State Department in Wyoming and California before returning to central Illinois where she worked in the Payroll Department at Caterpillar INC for many years. She was a member of Highview Christian Church in Washington and a former member of Twelve Oaks Apostolic Christian Church in Peoria. There will be a funeral for Irene at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at 11 AM. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM on Monday February 18, 2013 at the funeral home. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Burial of cremains will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
