Obituary Irene Guthrie, 85, of Peoria, died at 2:37 pm Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. Born on July 27, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA, to George M. and Agnes McLean Wright, she married Franklin D. Guthrie on June 29, 1946 in Yeadon, PA. Surviving are 1 daughter, Kim (Ricardo) Delatorre of East Peoria, IL; 2 grandsons, Courtland (Sara) Brower and Aaron Delatorre; 2 great-granddaughters, Faith Ann Brower and Lorelei Irene Brower, and 2 sisters, Gladys (Theodore) Caldwell of King of Prusia, PA and Mona Wright Klemm of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Frank on April 8, 2008. Irene was an Administrative Secretary at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She also worked as a church secretary. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria and a previous member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean City, NJ and Springfield, PA, and the Newton Square Presbyterian Church. Services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Waters of Life Chapel at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. The Rev. Paul Park and Rev. Randy Saxon will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Lutheran Hillside Village. Cremation rites will be accorded following services. Inurnment of cremated remains will be private. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
