Obituary Ian Parker Day, 13, of East Peoria died at 9:09 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 22, 2001 in Peoria to Jeffrey L. and Mireille "Lisa" E. Kirschbaum Day; they survive. Also surviving are his family that he loved very much; siblings, Justin Barnett, Jesse Barnett, Gage Day and Kaitlin Day; paternal grandfather, Steve Day of Morton; maternal grandparents, Gerald and Susan Kirschbaum of Germantown Hills; aunts and uncles, Brett (Kim) Day of Morton, Dave (Susan) Day of CO, Shelley (Jim) Kiesewetter of Metamora, Kathryne Kirschbaum of Germantown Hills, Jennifer Kirschbaum (Ace McCloud) of Creve Coeur, and Jon (Susie) Kirschbaum of Germantown Hills. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sharon Day. Ian attended Central Jr. High School in East Peoria where he was an honor student and member of the 8th grade basketball team. He played many sports over the years and his favorites were fishing, soccer, and basketball. He was an adventurous young man who loved all outdoor activities including bass fishing, swimming, diving, snorkeling, as well as hunting and shooting. Ian had a big heart and showed his love by always caring for others. He also had a great love for all animals including his pet dogs and cats. However, most of all, he loved spending his time with his siblings and friends. Memorials may be made to TAPS and the Children's Home of Peoria. Ian's funeral service will be at 10 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 4 - 7 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the funeral home. Family and friends are encouraged to wear their Central Grade School sports attire.
