Obituary
WASHINGTON- Henrietta M. Piper, 80, of Washington, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:30P.M. at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria.
Henrietta was born on December 15, 1935 in El Paso to Henry and Marguerite Lindsay Kesler. She married Kenneth W. Piper on June 19, 1954 in El Paso. He survives and resides in Washington.
Together, they had six children, Barbara (Denny) Flowers of Elizabethtown, PA, Susan K. (Jim) Culshaw of Peoria, Karen L. Munoz of Washington, Peggy J. (Galen) Smith of Shillington, PA, William K. (Crystal) Piper of Pekin, and Michael L. (Jennifer) Piper of East Peoria; eleven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Marvin and Fred Kesler.
Henrietta worked as a homemaker. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed going to garage sales. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished each moment she was able to spend with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A funeral service for Henrietta will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Reverend Lloyd Brock will officiate. There will be a visitation prior to the service, from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton at a later date.
