Obituary East Peoria - Helen L. Harrmann, 103, lifelong resident of East Peoria died at 10:30 AM Sunday December 18, 2011 at her residence. She was born August 1, 1908 in East Peoria to William Samuel and Mary Sweeney Frey. She married William W. "Sarge" Harrmann on October 11, 1934 in East Peoria. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1987. Also preceding her in death were five brothers and three sisters and one great grandson Brandon Harrmann. Surviving are two sons; William C. (Marilyn) Harrmann and J. "Joe" (Sherry) Harrmann, two daughters; Carolyn (Ken) Hutchcraft and Mary (Dave) Grimm all of East Peoria. Helen is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Angela Castleman, Amy Vucetech, Bill Harrmann, Brad Harrmann, Bob Harrmann, Brett Harrmann, Kimberly Lyon, Karrie LaHaie, David Grimm, Simon Grimm and Isaac Grimm, and ten great grandchildren. A funeral mass for Helen will be at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. Monsignor James Kruse will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Tuesday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria with a Rosary service at 6:45 PM and a half hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Helen was the Valedictorian of the 1927 graduating class of East Peoria High School. She later received a scholarship to attend Bradley University. She was a homemaker. Helen loved to bake, garden and play cards. She was a great motivator and encourager. She was a lifelong member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria.
