Obituary WASHINGTONa"Harryetta V. Miller, 87, of Washington, formerly of Peoria, passed away peacefully at 9:40 PM, Monday February 9, 2009 at Washington Christian Village with her family by her side. She was born June 7, 1921 in Canton IL to Harry V. and Etta Z. Johnson Langstaff. She married Ed Fuller in 1946 in Canton and later married Ray Miller in 1959 in Peoria. She graduated from Canton High School in 1938 where she participated in numerous shorthand contests at local, state, and national levels. She later attended Bradley University. While living in Canton she had worked at the State Attorney's Office, Circuit Clerks Office and the Social Security Office. She then worked in Springfield for the Illinois Insurance Department. After moving to Peoria, she began working at the Peoria County Courthouse for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court as an official shorthand court reporter where she worked for twenty years, retiring in January of 1987. She loved all of her co-workers, mentored many and built many long-lasting and dear friendships. She is survived by one daughter, Debra J. Bomhold of Washington, with whom she made her home with for several years, and 2 sons, R. Craig (Penny) Miller of Dunlap and Gerald (Judy) Fuller of Peoria. Her grandchildren, Taylor Miller, Michael Miller, Tim (Katie) Peters and Alyssa Bomhold, with whom she had a very special relationship and who she called "her girl." She also had one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, and one infant daughter, Sheryl L. Fuller. She very much enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading, eating out, vacations, family gatherings, sending cards and flowers, music, her dogs and feeding the birds and backyard animals. Attending school functions, sporting events, plays and concerts in which her children and grandchildren participated. She also never turned down a chance to go for a ride anywhere because you might go by somewhere that had ice cream or some kind of sweet treat. She was a member of the Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, February 13 at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. The Rev. Rick Atchley will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 12 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington.
