Harold C. VanAcker, 90, of Washington, passed away at 5:02pm Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born May 25, 1933 in Elgin, to the late Charles and Anna Hoornaert VanAcker. He married Annabell Slack on September 20, 1958, and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2021.

Surviving are his daughters Vicky (Steve) Birkner, Susie (Lynn) Arbuckle, Veronica Vandergriff, Elizabeth Dingledine, and Emilee Lester; grandchildren, Charlie, Jason, Jimi, Taylor, Stephen, Austin, and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Cole, Grayson, Harper, and Claire; and his siblings, Ray VanAcker and JoAnn Williams.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters and a brother.

Harold served in the US Navy from 1952-1956, serving on the USS Sustain. He was employed at AO Smith Corp. in Wisconsin for many years and later worked at Caterpillar after moving to Washington. He loved working in his garden and being an excellent grandfather.

A private burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
