Harold L. Kastl, 83, of East Peoria, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side at 10:25 pm Friday, November 12, 2021.
He was born October 10, 1938 in Peoria to Raymond and Helen Weigel Kastl. He married Sandra E. Halverson in Peoria on August 12, 1961. She survives.
Also surviving are six children, Chris (John) Gaspar, Terri (Jim) Grooss, Kathy (Kevin) Fiddes, Rebecca Kastl, Mark Kastl, Scott (Shawna) Kastl; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry (Carol) Kastl. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Christopher Fiddes; great-grandson, Oliver Pinkston; brother, Jerry Kastl; and sister, Janice Brasel.
Harold worked as a project manager at Natkin, Du-Mont, and Tobin Brothers Mechanical before retiring.
He was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria where he served in the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Grzybowski Council, Hands of Christ, and as Past President of the Parish Advisory Board.
A funeral mass for Harold will be held at 11am Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria with Father John Steffen officiating. Visitation will be Monday, November 15th from 5 to 7 pm at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with further visitation at St. Monica's Tuesday one hour prior to the mass from 10 to 11 am. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Peoria.
